Chiropractic care
I don’t know about you, but when I ask people about chiropractic care I get a lot of different responses. Some people have wonderful experiences from going to the chiropractor while other people relate more negative experiences. Through the years I have heard all types of stories about many types of conditions that chiropractors will treat. But there is a common thread to both good and bad chiropractic care experiences.
Talk to your chiropractor
This sounds simple but this is one of the key ingredients to having a positive experience with chiropractic treatment. It is good to give the chiropractor as much information as you possibly can about your condition. Relate things that are very specific to the condition and also anything else that may be going on that you might think would not be related. Sometimes there are symptoms and problems that we have that we may not correlate with a specific condition were having.
Know what you want from your chiropractor
Again, sounds simple but if you and your chiropractor had different goals for your treatment then neither one of you will be satisfied. You may go to a chiropractor’s office looking for the best ways to be as healthy as you possibly can and to get on a” maintenance schedule of treatment” for the rest of your life, while other people go to a chiropractor’s office for a specific injury and after they feel better they do not want to go back. These are too very different goals for treatment and recovery. Make sure that when you talk with your chiropractor that you communicate your goals of treatment and what you want to get out of the chiropractic therapy that he offers. This way, your goals and his goals of treatment we’ll matchup and have a higher likelihood of positive experience.
Look for the right chiropractor
It is always good to have a personal referral to a chiropractor. If you do not have a referral to a chiropractor the first step is to be aware of what type of injury you have. Some Chiropractors only work with the neck were other chiropractors and focus on the light touch energy work. If you have a car accident injury, sports injury, chronic arthritic pain, or pregnancy these are all different specialization’s that chiropractors will focus on and treat in their office. Look for chiropractors who advertise in and specialize in treating your specific type condition. This will give you a higher likely hood of having a positive experience with a chiropractor.
