Whether your headache is new or ongoing, throbbing or constant, severe or mild – chiropractic can help.
Medical research has shown that 70% of all headache pain is related to the joints and muscles in your neck. Published research has shown chiropractic to be very successful in the treatment of most headache types including: cervicogenic, tension, migraine, sinus, TMD (jaw), trauma (e.g whiplash) and chronic headache pain. This research has shown chiropractic treatment to be just as effective as standard medication. Both treatments demonstrated that the headache intensity, duration, and OTC drug usage were all significantly decreased. However, four weeks following treatment, the patients who had taken medication for their headaches returned to their pre-treatment pain status, whereas the majority of those treated with spinal manipulation (chiropractic) maintained their level of improvement. Dr. Troy Davis is an expert in chiropractic and physical medicine and is extremely successful in treating most all kinds of headaches.
Only 1% of all headaches are caused by a serious medical condition.
A lot of peoples pain located on either one or both sides of the head and may have pain in the neck and back as well. It is important to resolve any problems in the spine, as this is often the originating factor of headaches. No amount of medication will resolve joint problems. Usually only a small number of treatments of gentle massage, mobilization, manipulation, traction, and/or exercises will resolve their pain.
What treatments can help headache pain?
Dr Troy Davis uses many different treatment options depending on the specific type and cause of your headache pain. Most therapies involve reducing muscle tension around the neck and base of the head. The treatments are customized to the patients needs and comfort to maximize the response to the muscles surrounding the joints and connective tissue that often trigger headaches.
